The City of New Aphros by L.B. Benson

This is Book 2 in Andromeda’s Account, read my review of the first book here.

Summary:

Andromeda has decided to sail with Captain Lennox after confessing they don’t wish to be separated from each other. Their arrival in the City of Aphros doesn’t go as smoothly as they would have liked and things have changed on the city with the increasing presence of zealous priests. Andromeda discovers truths about herself and must finally decide if she will fight for what was taken from her and so many others or if she will continue her life always on the move and always worried. 

My Thoughts:

This book was so good! After the last book, I wanted a little more of the fantasy elements and I got it. The author did a wonderful job of exploring the magic of the priestesses in this one. 

I love that a new location has come into play and the introduction of some great new characters. The spice was also taken up a notch and did not disappoint!

At times I felt the story was a little dragged out or the pace was slow but that honestly could have been because I desperately wanted to know what comes next and where the story was headed. 

Some things I hope to see in the next book are more on the history of the priestesses, the confrontation with Blackwell, and how other lands and supporters will play a part.

I cannot wait for the next book. Drop everything to read this book and wait with me in anticipation of the next one!
