When in Rome by Sarah Adams
Summary:
Desperately needing a break from her life as celebrity singer Rae Rose, Amelia decides to take a break in Rome…Rome, Kentucky. On the way there, her car breaks down on the lawn of very grumpy thirty something year old, Noah. He offers her his spare room for the night but only one night. The last thing he needs is a spoiled pop star messing up his life but then he sees Amelia is more than that. Circumstances and the manners his grandmother raised him with, Noah allows Amelia to stay until her car is fixed. The attraction between them is undeniable but a relationship would never work. Noah has responsibilities and Amelia has a successful career as a singer. Should they let themselves go after what they want or protect themselves from the inevitable separation?
My Thoughts:
This was such a cute story and fun to read. Their story is the embodiment of a grumpy x sunshine trope.
The teasing and flirting was cute and lighthearted. This wasn’t a steamy type of romance but it did have some good tension.
I really appreciated the storyline given this was a romance. Without spoiling anything, this story was not your typical romance plot line where the characters fight the attraction, give in to the attraction, break up for something, realize they made a huge mistake and make up.
There was some decent depth to the characters and the story making it relatable. Overall, a very good book. I recommend reading this one if you’re looking for something simple and lighthearted.
