A Queen’s Shadow by Melissa Kieran

Summary:

The mysteries continue as tensions rise in the land of Deimos. Isle and Kai must navigate not only the pressures from other territories and being newly crowned but also face the unknown of the changes they themselves have gone through.

My Thoughts:

This series continues to be infuriatingly vague and it drives me crazy! Nothings that happens makes sense and very little comes together to change that. I’m sure that’s the point but I don’t feel there’s enough being revealed to keep you consistently interested.

Despite this, I do still find the story interesting and I really need to know the answers to some of these mysteries, especially after the ending! The ending of this book is the first time I feel like I got any answers.

I hate Cassius, as I’m sure most readers will, but I’m curious to find out how he knows so much.

I also wonder why no one fills Kai in on some of these secrets. I understand pack loyalties but Kai is at a ridiculous disadvantage with how he became alpha. There are no offers of assistance and Kai doesn’t really exert his power as needed to get the knowledge he needs. That’s just my opinion though.

Overall, a decent read but be prepared to work for answers. I will continue with the series and post reviews as they come!
