Breath and Starshine: Medicus Corpus Book Two

Summary:

Aurelia, Hale, and Roe are all getting settled at their new home in Devils Meadow. Unfortunately, the clinic keeps them so busy that they have little time for each other or a life outside of the clinic. With a killer in the area and the threat of Aurelia miracles being discovered, everyone is under a lot of pressure. Is this killer connected to wonder working and is Medicus Corpus purposely keeping everyone in the dark?

My Thoughts:

I enjoyed this one just as much as the first. I was curious to see what their lives would like in the new settlement. The author did a great job of realistically portraying the struggles of being in a new place while being occupied by life’s curveballs.

I am happy to say you get some answers on what exactly the Great Divignation was and how the world got to where it was. I also like that there was a bit of thriller/mystery with the presence of a killer. As a plus, this leads to more discoveries about the world the characters live in.

I’m so happy with how the relationship between Aurelia and Hale turned out but I would have loved to see a similar relationship for Roe.

Overall, a really enjoyable book set in what continues to be such an interesting world!
