Summary:

Harrow, Auris’s rescuer, believes Auris may have fae blood. Together, they unravel some of the mystery of her blood and the worlds they live in.

My Thoughts:

I had a little trouble getting into this book at first because of the writing style. If let like I was being led through the story in a very obvious way at times which I wasn’t a fan of. Once the storyline pickup though, I was able to forget about that and enjoy the story.

This book doesn’t have your typical fae who are tricksters and at time cruel. I love reading books with these cruel trickster fae but I didn’t mind the way they were depicted in this book either. It was interesting to read a different take on fae.

This story seems to be set in a sort of dystopian world of which you are only given so much detail because of the narrator’s lack of memory. I didn’t love this but it’s interesting enough to keep you interested and wanting to read more.

What really sold me on this book was the fae world the author created. Not necessarily the fae themselves, but the depiction of the fae world. This book really fed my imagination of the world and how beautiful it would look.

The ending was a bit predictable but I’m excited to see where the second book picks up! I think this is a really good book but it may not be for everyone. More to come on this series!
