Every year it’s the same thing except this year because there is a new bachelor in town, Charlie, and he comes with interesting company. Will is interested and Elizabeth is sure he hates everyone. As events unfold and truths come to light, Will and Elizabeth find themselves in each other’s company more often and rethinking their initial impressions of each other. But, can they get over their pride and face what they feel?

My Thoughts:

I am going to start of this review with a warning: I am a huge fan of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and that love likely had a huge impact on my thoughts of this book.

I’m sure you’re wondering if that means I loved it or hated it but I’m here to tell you that I absolutely loved this book! I enjoyed this book over one weekend, wanting to drag out my enjoyment as long as possible while simultaneously wanting to finish the story as quickly as possible even thought I am intimately familiar with the story of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.

I am not going to lie and say I didn’t have some trouble adjusting to a modern version of the story. It was hard not to feel like some aspects were a little ridiculous or random compared to the original but the authors capture the spirit of the characters and the story so well that I quickly got past that feeling.

Despite this book being a reimagining, I found myself wondering what would happen next, how things would play out, and what scenes would be included from the original and how would they have been changed.

If I haven’t convinced you to pick up this book yet, this book also includes some great humor and spice. The authors wove both of these qualities throughout in such a way that was true to the story but also refreshing and exciting to read.

I loved this story and can see myself picking this up to reread, same as the original. I’m probably biased, but I seriously need people to drop everything to get this book so we can gush over it together. Obviously, I think Pride and Prejudice fans will enjoy it most as long you don’t mind a very funny and modern take on the story.
