Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands
Summary:
Emily told Wendell she would find his door and that’s exactly what she intends to do. However, when assassins start coming after Wendell, finding Wendell’s door becomes the urgent. Emily believes the Austrian Alps will have answers they seek. While there, they may find more mysteries than answers. With Wendell’s magic limited acting oddly, Emily must make an important decision and travel into possibly the most dangerous realm in existence.
My Thoughts:
I love that this takes place soon after the first book. You get an overview of how things have changed but also how they’ve kind of stayed the same.
Most of all, I’m glad the marriage proposal didn’t get swept under the rug. It’s intriguing and entertaining to see how things will play out there. I was honestly curious if the offer was real or if there is some ulterior motive to it.
The banter between Wendell and Emily is fun and exactly the kind I’ve come to know and love from them. Their relationship progresses in this book and in a way that is perfect for their characters and true to the book.
You get introduced to Emily’s niece, Ariadne, in this book. I wasn’t sure what to make of her at first but she eventually grew on me, not unlike Emily did.
This book is absolute perfection. The story, the characters, the world: it’s all there! Drop everything to read this book and wait with me for the third book to release!
