Hocus Pocus & the Sequel

This book contains both the retelling of the original Hocus Pocus film and the sequel following a new generation of Salem teens.

My Thoughts:

If you are a fan of the movie, then you will love the book and the sequel!

The first part of the book is a perfect retelling of the movie. I don’t know if the purpose was to stay in line with the way the retelling was written but the writing was a little too simple for me. As a fan, I could look past that to enjoy revisiting the world in which the Sanderson sisters existed. The sequel also gives you as small look into the sister’s past.

After reading the sequel, I had high hopes for the movie that came out at the end of September. I think the new movie went a different direction than I was expecting but it was still enjoyable. I enjoyed the book more but that’s no surprise. The book had more detail and, in my opinion, more adventure.

Also, let me know what you all think about the ending of the sequel. I would love to know your thoughts. This book is perfect for fans but otherwise I probably wouldn’t recommend it.
