Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

Summary:

A collection of poems about love, loss, healing, and so much more.

My thoughts:

I’ve been meaning to read this book for the longest time so I’m glad to finally mark it off my TBR list.

This book started out a little darker and more explicit than I expected. I think you should definitely read the trigger warning before picking up this book.

Given the initial tone, I was worried I would have to accept this book was not for me and stop reading. I was interested to know if the poems changed in tone so I keep reading and ultimately I’m glad I did.

The book does discuss traumas but it also explores healing, self love, and the strength of being a woman.

Overall, this is a powerful collection of poems with some great emotional insight.
