Outlawed by Anna North

Summary:
It’s a woman’s duty to have a child, but after a year of marriage and no pregnancy, Ada leaves everything she knows behind to prevent being hanged as a witch. She joins a notorious gang run by The Kid, a robber wanting to create a safe haven for women who don’t fit into society. To create a lasting community, the gang has come up with a plan but it’s danger and may put everything they have worked for at risk. Ada must decide what she is willing to risk for her future.
My Thoughts:
This felt like of a sort of alternate reality given everything that has transpired regarding women’s rights. By the end, I was a little haunted by the book but nothing too extreme.
The story is interesting enough and follows the main character of a woman who was sent away for being unable to have children.
The story had a clear beginning, middle and end but otherwise didn’t have much else going on.
I think the only part of the book that will resonate with people is that every society has people who will not fit or conform but that doesn’t mean you can’t find your own place in the world.
The ending itself was sort of open ended and I think fitting for how the novel went. Ultimately, I think I’m going to have say I read this for you. Unless the summary interests you, I think you can pass on reading this one.
