People Will Talk by Kieran Scott

Summary:

Peter Frank’s high school sweetheart, his current girlfriend, and his son’s legal guardian find themselves at the Frank’s clambake. Only it’s not clambake, it’s a surprise wedding, Peter’s wedding. All of them become suspects when Tilly, the bride, is found dead, crushed by a chandelier that couldn’t have fallen on its own. They all have something to gain by her death but they also all have something to lose if they are charged with killing Tilly.

My Thoughts:

I don’t often get around to read murder mysteries but I really enjoy them and this one was no different.

There was good build up to the actual murder and plenty of set up for the suspects. In classic murder mystery style, you’re wondering who did it?

I think Catherine could be annoying at times but she was central to the story and a top candidate for the murder.

The pacing of the story was perfect for a murder mystery and used changing perspectives to add to the suspense.

The way the story unfolded wasn’t the best it could have been. I would have like every loose end from the murder to be tied up but that wasn’t the case. In a way though, that makes this book unique and surprising.

I’m terrible at guessing endings so it’s no surprise that I had no clue who the killer was. So, I think it’s safe to say, the ending was not exactly predictable.

Overall, I think this book is really great murder mystery read, perfect for bringing along to the beach or on vacation for a quick read. It may not be perfect but it’s enjoyable and worth picking up.
