Second Chance at Rancho Lindo by Sabrina Sol

Summary:

Nora is determined to prove her worth on the ranch and she’s not going to let Gabe’s return interfere with that. She knows first hand that Gabe doesn’t always keep his promises. Gabe, back home from the military, has no plans to make his role in the ranch permanent even if his family wishes otherwise and despite his feelings for Nora. Will being on the ranch together be a repeat of the past or will they find happiness?

My Thoughts:

I love Annette’s women’s fiction books so I thought I would try her romance under her pen name Sabrina Sol and I’m so glad I did! Every time I read her books, it feels like I’m returning to my comfort zone. I love her writing, the characters she creates, and how I can just expect a good story.

The heart of this book is in the relationships. The relationship between Nora and the Ortega family, between Nora and Gabe, and between Gabe and his family. All of them have their challenges but are all beautiful in their own way. 

I really like the family dynamics in this book. Families aren’t always easy and aren’t always what you expect them to be. The love may be there, but patience and understanding can be just as important.

Nora and Gabe clearly have a past but I love that Nora doesn’t immediately fall all over Gabe. She also does her best to do what’s right in each given situation despite what her emotions may be telling her. I think Gabe is perfectly flawed to the end. He makes mistakes along the way but eventually manages to face what he wants. 

By the end, I wanted more of Nora and Gabe and more of the Ortega family. Luckily, there is another book I can read featuring another Ortega brother. 

This was such a sweet story and a truly enjoyable read for me. I recommend checking it out and other books from this author.
