The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L Armentrout

Summary:

Casteel always knew what a monster the Blood Queen was but now he is learning the extent of the horrors she committed. Poppy is determined to free Casteel but she must convince Atalantian generals to follow her plans to do so. War is the beginning of what must be done to stop what the Blood Queen has done.

My Thoughts:

I knew the Joining was going to happen! And yes that’s how I’m starting out this review haha. It was tastefully done and not as explicit as I thought it was going to be.

This story continues to disprove what you thought you knew which can get a little annoying. I think there are enough hints to what happens though that you don’t feel completely blindsided.

As I work on the review, I realize the author continues to make things frustratingly elusive the way she did with the first book. She gives you just enough to want more and keep you interested. After being sucked in by this series, I realize it’s still happening it just looks a little different now.

The ending was not surprising and I’m excited to read the next book. It will be interesting to see how gods play a role in the next one.

I think this book series is a great one but maybe not for everyone given the constant dribbles of information and revelations of what you thought was true.
