Things We Hide from the Light by Lucy Score

Summary:

Angelina is in town to get what she needs and leave. She works and lives with no strings attached and loves her freedom. Nash is the commitment/settling down type but right now he’s just trying to make it through each day. When Angelina moves in next door, he feels more than numbness for the first time since his near death experience. Nash still can’t remember exactly what happened and Angelina seems to be in town looking for the guy responsible for Nash getting shot. Both Angelina and Nash lead different lives and know they couldn’t be more wrong for each other but can they fight the sparks that are constantly firing between them?

My Thoughts:

I think I enjoyed this book even more the Things We Never Got Over.

The character development happened much earlier in the book which made the ending feel less rushed to me. I also feel the ending and epilogue were a little more fleshed out in this one. Nash was definitely a stubborn jerk at times but at least he learned a little quicker than Knox.

With a lot of the characters  already having been established, it felt like this book went a little deeper into each one which was nice and appreciated.

I don’t think I mentioned this in my previous review, but the amount of female appreciation demonstrated in these books is wonderful. Normalizing cycles and moods is the best.

The story also held a couple of surprises that I was happy not to have been able to predict. I also appreciated the fact that there is also a bit of a crime action plot.

This a great read in my opinion, long but great for a romance novel. I’m excited to read Lucian’s story.
