To Hook A Star by Patsi Harvey

Summary:

Kristy is a young widowed single mom to her daughter Abi. After sharing a cab with a random stranger, Kristy find herself contending with feelings she didn’t expect to feel. With those feelings comes the guilt and heartache of trying to move on from the terrible grief of losing a husband. To make things more complicated, the stranger is more than just some average guy off the street.

My thoughts:

I had to get used to the writing style a bit but once I did I was able to invest in the story.

It’s a story about finding love in an unlikely way and with someone wholly unexpected. I love that Kirsty was a mom first and foremost while navigating a love life. Dillon is so caring and his consideration of Abi at every moment is truly touching.

This was a refreshing read after reading romcoms with over the top/cliche scenes. This book didn’t pretend to be something it wasn’t. It reads like a movie and in such a good way! It was key points and scenes, a whirlwind love and a beautiful ending wrapped up in one.

I think this book is genuinely a good read. I recommend giving it a read and showing some love to the author online!
