The Wicked King by Holly Black

Summary:

Cardan had been crowned king but Jude is one that has things to worry about. She will have to figure out a way to keep Cardan on the throne, keep her father from trying to gain any power, and keep Cardan from ruining everything. All of this while making sure no one finds out just how much power she has. How long until everything goes wrong?

My thoughts:

I was so excited to jump into this book. To see how Cardan and Jude’s relationship would develop, if they would drive each insane, or just try to kill each other. 

Holly did such a great job with this book and with the world Jude must navigate. As the author, she definitely does not hold back in this book. Everything is set to extremes: the scheming, the killing, the feelings. The writing and the story are unabashed and unashamed and that’s what makes it so good. 

The ending is nuts but I refuse to believe things are as they seem. I’m going to keep reading to the end. It is a great read but quite a lot of to take in.
